Welcome to the Ithaca Academy of Dance
IAD was established in 1935 and has remained Ithaca's prime dance studio for nurturing dance as the language of the heart. IAD alumnae include numerous dance professionals and established studio directors and dance instructors in Ithaca and in other cities across the United States.

IAD faculty have several decades of combined dance and professional experience in helping people of all ages develop a love for dance, confidence and the grace and skills for experiencing the joy of movement.

We offer classes in ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, contemporary, precision, theatre/production, social ballroom dancing, and adult dance and excercise classes.  We accept students from ages 3-adult.

 
 Our competition team is an award winning company of young people and adults who have won top awards in all dance categories at national, regional, and state competitions. The competition team and competitions are supported by a team of committed sponsors and parents.

At IAD, we believe that dance is first and foremost a place for the expression of the heart, a place of fun, friendship and growth. We look forward to helping people of all ages discover the power of dance.
