IAD was established in 1935 and has remained Ithaca's prime dance studio for providing students of all ages with excellent dance education. IAD alumnae include numerous dance professionals and established studio directors and dance instructors in Ithaca and in other cities across the United States.

IAD faculty have several decades of combined dance and professional experience in helping people of all ages develop a love for dance. They encourage all students to strive to meet their fullest potential and to value the art of dance.

We offer classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Hip-Hop, Precision, Lyrical, Contemporary, Theatre/Production, Acrobatics, Social Ballroom,  Modern, Zumba and Yoga .  We accept students from ages 2 through adults.

 
The IAD Dance Company is an award winning company of young people and adults who have won top awards in all dance categories at national, regional, and state competitions. We not only attend competitions but also volunteer and perform throughout the year. At IAD we would rather instill a passion for performing rather than merely the desire to win awards. The IAD Dance Company is supported by a team of committed sponsers and parents.

At IAD, we believe that dance is first and foremost a place for the expression of the heart, a place of fun, friendship and growth. We look forward to helping people of all ages discover the power of dance.
